Lions Club Of Pune Supreme

    Our Charter President and Pride of our Club MJF Lion Late Hasmukh Mehta chartered our club on 7th August 1995, Lions Club of Pune supreme never look back to serve poor and needy and performed need-based activities. After 2 years of our Silver Jubilee Year the `Jaipur Foot Camp` is a signature activity of our club and later adopted by our District as a core activity every year and So far 87 `Jaipur Foot Camps` have been held at Pune, Nagar & Nasik revenue Districts and more than 10,000 needy patients were provided with artificial limb `Jaipur Foot`, Wheelchair, Artificial Hands, Callipers, etc. Since 1995, our club is rendering various need based activities in the field of Social Awareness, Children, Education, Environment, Health, Knowledge Enrichment Seminars, Orphanage, Rehabilitation, Sight, Traffic Awareness, Women Empowerment and Youth Development. Along with these activities Permanent Projects and Activities as follows:

    1. Residential School for Mentally Challenged Children `Aditya Prangan` in association with Sanskar Prathisthan at Sutarwadi Village, situated at 20 KM from Pune. The Club had adopted this School since its beginning i.e. in 1995 and constructed Dining Hall for the School. We have also assisted in Construction of Adult Mentally Retarded Home to this institute in 1997. Every Month our Member Lion Satish Karanjkar is providing Grocery worth Rs. 15000/- through CSR by his company

    2.In July 2010 we have joined hands with Lions Club of Pune Aundh pashan & Lions Club of Chiplun for joint venture of `Construction of Building for Rehabilitation Centre for Physically Challenged` at village `Shringartali` in Ratnagiri District. This inter district center was inaugurated in July 2012.

    3. In October 2010 we have joined hands with Lions club Pune Aundh Pashan Janseva Foundation for `Mobile Vision Clinic`. Our club has donated `Hi-tech Computerized Eye Screening Machine` that was fitted in the mobile Van to cater to poor people living in the remote villages around Pune who cant afford to come to cities for eye screening.

    4. Since July 2010, we are working hand in hand with `Satyaniketan` for the betterment of Education of Adivasi Children in remote area of Sahyadri Hills in Village `Shenit`, District Ahmednagar @ 227 Kms. from Pune. Lion Ashok Mistry visiting the school Dr. Rajendraprasad Prathmik & Madhyamik Ashramshala every fortnight and following projects were initiated. a. In July 2010, Renovation of 6000.00 Sq. Ft. Dining Hall b. In July 2010, 3000.00 Sq. Ft. Water Proofing to terrace of School Building c. In April 2014, Assistance in construction of Girls` Hostel 12000 Sq. Ft. and Toilet block consisting 17 WCs & 17 Bathrooms with shower and Hot water solar system for Girls d. In May 2015, assistance in construction of Boys` Toilet block consisting 13 WCs & 13 Bathrooms with shower and Hot water solar system. e. In January 2019 Lions Children Health Park of 3000 Sq. ft.. f. In June 2019 Lion Usha Desai Library Project at Sarvodaya Vidya Mandir, Khirvire.

    5. In July 2016, we have adopted Village Warwadi near Shirval on Pune Satara Highway. We have provided E-Learning Kit to school, Solar Street Lights, Operating Medical Clinic once a Month etc.

    6. RTO licensee waiting Lounge with Seating facility for 60 people October 2018 -Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT) at Nasik phata Bhosari is having a huge campus and has given a marked area to RTO to carry out driving tests for issuing Driving License. Earlier all the people coming for tests has to wait in open under the sun for 4-6 hours a day. There was no shed or seating arrangement in the campus for them. In the rainy and summer season the situation turns to worst for them. The first-hand experience of this situation made our member Lion Asha Kale to do something for the suffering people. Under guidance of our PDG Lion Late Hasmukh Mehta and then VDG1 Lion Omprakash Pethe Sir jointly with their respective clubs LCP Supreme and LCP Akurdi planned a permanent project to provide a Waiting lounge with Seating facility for 60 nos. visitors. The area of lounge is 9 x 7.5 meters with 20 nos. seater benches. Finance was raised from donations to the tune of 5 Lakh Rupees. It was completed in the record time of 3 weeks under able supervision of Lion Asha Kale who is Architect by profession. This facility was duly inaugurated at the hands of Shri Umashakar ji, MD KRTC. President Lion Sunita Kulkarni along-with PDG Lion Late Hasmukh Mehta, VDG 1 Lion Omprakash Pethe and dignitaries from District 3234 D2 and club members of both clubs had attended this function. This facility serves more than 50,000 visitors per year.

    7.Installation of Cryogenic Oxygen Dura Oxygen Cylinder at Khedekar Hospital, Bopodi 5th Oct. 2020 during October Service week- Initially enquiry for donation of 1 Cryogenic Oxygen Dura Cylinder (capacity equivalent to 28 Jumbo Oxygen Cylinder) came from Ex member Dr Pandit Sonkamble of Naidu Hospital of Pune Municipal Corporation to our member Lion Shriram Bhalerao. Later on the installation of the Dura cylinder was diverted towards Khedekar hospital, Bopodi another PMC hospital. We have helped this Covid-19 hospital by donating Cryogenic Oxygen Dura cylinder. This activity was performed in the presence of our respected DG Lion Abhay Shashtri, our RC Lion Ravi Golar, ZC Lion Ashish Majumdar, President Lion Rohini Nagwankar, other dignitaries from district and club members, Mr. Hemant Rasne - Chairman Standing Committee PMC, Mr. Kandu -Covid Tech. Co-ordinator of PMC, Mr Siddharth Shah Director of main Donor Chandukaka Saraf, 3 corporators of Aundh- Baner- Bopodi area, Aundh Ward officers, Dr. Swati madam and other staff of Khedekar hospital. This project was initiated by our PDG Ln Late Hasmukh Mehta sir & supported by our Club Administrator Ln Suryakantji Shah who managed major donation from Chandukaka Saraf and the entire coordination and helping hand was extended by our IPP Ln Shriram Bhalerao. Total costing of the project is Rs. 3 Lakh and generous donation from Chandukaka Saraf & Sons Pvt. Ltd. was Rs. 2.5 Lakh, rest was contributed by our club members.

    We were able to do all these with the helping hand of our 42 club members which include 12 Ladies & 30 Gents from various professional fields and our esteemed Donors, who visited our projects, need based activities and generous sly came forward with financial or in kind help. We have our Clubs Trust revived 3 years back and it has 80G, and CSR registrations. All our major donations are routed through our Trust.
